<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constantly perform high-quality printing irrespective of kinds of images and recording media in an ink jet image forming apparatus by which bidirectional printing is possible.SOLUTION: An ink jet image forming apparatus comprises: an engine 212 by which unidirectional printing for performing printing only by either of a forward movement or a backward movement of a reciprocating recording head, and bidirectional printing for performing the printing by both are possible; and a controller 200 which controls the engine. The controller 200 acquires information regarding image data from a network I/F part 301, and acquires information regarding a sheet on which the image data is printed from an engine I/F part 305. A print control system part 303 determines whether to execute the unidirectional printing or to execute the bidirectional printing on the basis of the information regarding the image data and information regarding a recording medium, controls the engine 212 on the basis of its determination result, and prints the image data on the sheet.</p> |
