PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily adjust initial rising of a load/displacement characteristic.SOLUTION: A shock absorbing device 1 comprises: a crash box 2 made of a composite material formed by reinforcing resin with fiber, and crashed in a forward and backward direction to absorb shock energy; and a pressing member 3 arranged in contact with a front end 2a of the crash box 2 and pressing and crashing the crash box 2 in the forward and backward direction. The pressing member 3 is formed into such a shape that a protrusion part 31 in contact of the front end 2a of the crash box 2 projects to a rear side at a predetermined inclination angle α in a tapered manner, and a tip of the protrusion part 31 is arranged in contact with a center part of the front end 2a of the crash box 2. |
