PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording device which keeps a drying property of a recording medium constant.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording device includes: an image forming portion 18 for recording an image by applying ink to paper P; a heating/drying processing portion 20 provided on a carrying direction downstream side than the image forming portion 18, and drying an ink drop on the paper P; a sensor 101 provided on the carrying direction downstream side than the image forming portion 18, and detecting in-device atmospheric temperature on the outside of the heating/drying processing portion 20; and controlling means 90 for controlling the in-device atmospheric temperature on the outside of the heating/drying processing portion 20. The controlling means 90 shifts a stand-by mode in which the set temperature of the heating/drying processing portion 20 is made to be a target value at the stand-by time to a recording mode in which the set temperature of the heating/drying processing portion 20 is made to be a target value at recording, if the atmospheric temperature is within a target range. |
