PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high detection sensitivity to environmental change.SOLUTION: The environmental change detection sensor 1 includes: a light loss unit 4 formed of a single mode optical fiber 2; a deformation mechanism 3 for bending the light loss part 4 in response to a change of an installation environment; and light that propagates through the light loss unit 4 and has a wavelength that is a first wavelength y1 or more and a second wavelength y2 or less. The first wavelength y1 has a relation of y1=x+300 (unit: nm) with respect to a cutoff wavelength x of the single mode optical fiber 2. The second wavelength y2 has a relation of y2=0.7x+900 (unit: nm) with respect to the cutoff wavelength x of the single mode optical fiber 2.
