<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content recorder capable of easily converting a video compression format when a user performs recording in the content recorder.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a content recorder comprises: plural recording means that record therein content in a first image compression format or a second image compression format which is higher in compression efficiency than the first image compression format; storage means that stores recording history information on recording of content by a user; determining means that, when content being viewed and listened to is recorded in the first image compression format, by comparing the content and the recording history information, determines whether or not the content is carried content; and control means that, when the determining means determines that the content is carried content, controls unused one of the recording means to record therein the content in the second image compression format.</p> |
