The present invention relates to a system and a method for precisely measuring a load applied to the axle of a vehicle by reflecting structural characteristics of various suspension devices mounted on a truck. A system for measuring a load applied to the axle of a vehicle having a sensing unit for measuring variations in a leaf spring connected to an axle includes: an axle setting unit for setting a kind of the leaf spring for every axle of the vehicle in response to a command of a user; and a load calculating unit for calculating a load applied to the axle corresponding to the variations of the leaf spring, wherein a load applied to the axle is differentially calculated depending upon the kind of the leaf spring set by the axle setting unit, thereby minimizing a measurement error caused by a hysteresis of the leaf spring.
