PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electrical machine drive system capable of controlling charging and discharging so that closed circuit voltages of all cells are within a range between predetermined upper and lower limit voltages while keeping vehicle running at a time of occurrence of abnormality to a battery monitoring device.SOLUTION: In a rotating electrical machine drive system, if a relative value of an open circuit voltage of each of a plurality of cells 570 to an average value of open circuit voltages of the cells 570 is output from a battery monitoring device 510 and an abnormality determination unit 810 detects abnormality, then a battery state estimation unit 800 estimates an open circuit voltage and an internal resistance of each cell 570 on the basis of the relative value input from the battery monitoring device 510 before detection of an abnormal state and outputs from current sensors 240 and a voltage sensor 230, and a motor control device 100 controls a torque of a motor 300 on the basis of the open circuit voltage and the internal resistance of each cell 570 estimated by the battery state estimation unit 800.
