PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte which improves a capacity maintenance factor at charge and discharge cycle, a capacity maintenance factor at a high temperature, and a resistance increase rate, and also to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery using this nonaqueous electrolyte.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte containing lithium salt and a nonaqueous organic solvent is related to the nonaqueous electrolyte containing a compound having a structure shown by the formula: Q-O-N (1) (Q represents group 13-16 elements excluding a carbon atom and an oxygen atom).
