摘要 A method for manufacturing an array substrate for an in-plane switching liquid crystal display is provided. The method comprises the steps of: forming a thin film transistor on a substrate; forming sequentially a passivation layer, a protrusion layer, and a sacrificial metal layer on a front surface of the substrate including the thin film transistor; forming a first photo pattern on a front surface of the sacrificial metal layer; forming a sacrificial metal pattern and a protrusion pattern by patterning the sacrificial metal layer and the protrusion layer using the first photo pattern as a mask; removing the first photo pattern; forming a first transparent electrode layer and a second photo pattern on the front surface of the substrate including the protrusion pattern; forming a first pixel electrode and a common electrode by removing the first transparent electrode layer using the second photo pattern as a mask; and removing the second photo pattern. Therefore, the array substrate for an in-plane switching liquid crystal display may reduce a drive voltage for aligning liquid crystal molecules by forming the pixel electrode and the common electrode on an outer portion of the protrusion pattern having a tapered shape.
