<p>Depigmenting cosmetic composition comprises a synergistic combination of a melanogenesis inhibitor of resorcinol, a stable antioxidant derived from oxidation of ascorbic acid and a rhubarb root extract acetylated, dissolved or dispersed in an excipient or inert, nontoxic carrier. ACTIVITY : Dermatological. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Melanogenesis inhibitor. The inhibitory activity of the composition (comprising 5 mu g/ml of 4-hexylresorcinol and 1.25 mu g/ml of ascorbic acid 2-glucoside) was tested on an Asian women with age spots on face.
