The method involves acquiring values of a reference signal and values of a desired signal leveled with each of sub-elements (21) of a receiving antenna (20). A distribution law calculated for the sub-elements is applied. Calibration of the antenna is defined according to receiving characteristics of the reference signal leveled with the sub-elements, where the reference signal is emitted by a satellite (25) in a frequency band equal to a frequency band of the desired signal, and theoretical receiving characteristics of the reference signal are known. The reference signal is a global navigation satellite system signal, and the desired signal is a medium earth orbit search and rescue signal.
