A face recognition unit (110) recognizes faces included in a captured image obtained by capturing an image of a subject. The face recognition unit then detects the directions and positions of the recognized faces, respectively. On the basis of the directions and positions of two faces adjacent to each other and detected by the face recognition unit among the faces included in the captured image, a group detection unit (111) detects a group composed of faces included in the captured image. A control signal output unit (112) outputs a control signal indicating the direction of the group detected by the group detection unit. |
