Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications. Provided are a method, user equipment, and base station for predetermination of a resource in random access, allowing for a simplified random access process and increased reliability of information transmission in the random access process. The method is: an implicit scheme is employed to indicate some or all identifiers of a random access preamble index; alternatively, the number of bits for indicating the identifiers of the preamble index is configured on the basis of a prescribed parameter; alternatively, an RAR message can be made to comprise no bit or field for indicating a temporary identifier; alternatively, the RAR message can be made to comprise no uplink scheduling/grant information; alternatively, a time advance command that can be predefined, where the adjustment granularity of the time advance command that can be predefined is greater than a prescribed adjustment granularity. This simplifies messages in a random access procedure, while at the same time, a resource used for RAR response message and contention resolution message transmissions, for RAR response message retransmission, and for contention resolution message retransmission is either configured via signaling or preconfigured by a system. The embodiments of the present invention are for use in a random access process. |
