PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic display device capable of switching a 2D display state, a 3D display state and a mirror state, and simultaneously achieving 2D display while maintaining the mirror state.SOLUTION: A stereoscopic display device includes: a display panel 12; a switch liquid crystal panel 14; an absorption type polarizing plate 16; and a reflection type polarizing plate 22. The switch liquid crystal panel 14 is arranged closer to an observer side than the display panel 12. The absorption type polarizing plate 16 is arranged closer to the observer side than the switch liquid crystal panel 14. The reflection type polarizing plate 22 is disposed between the display panel 12 and the switch liquid crystal panel 14. The reflection type polarizing plate 22 is configured to transmit components in a direction parallel with a transmission axis L6 in light incident to the reflection type polarizing plate 22, and reflect components in a direction vertical to the transmission axis L6. At least one of a pair of substrates 32 and 34 has a transmission region 58 for transmitting light from the display panel 12 side. |
