PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device that enables contribution to optimization of a conveyance passage position of a recording material with respect to a smoothness level sensor, and enables contribution to improvement in detection accuracy, and stabilization of a detection result.SOLUTION: An image formation device comprises: a conveyance passage part 12 that conveys a recording sheet S toward a fixing device 60; a detector 70 that emits detection light 73 from a light emitting element toward the conveyance path part 12, receives reflection light reflected upon a surface of the recording sheet S during conveyance by the conveyance passage part 12 with a light reception element, and detects a smoothness level of the surface thereof from light reception intensity; and a fixing condition calculation part that changes fixing conditions on the basis of the smoothness level detected by the detector 70. The conveyance passage part 12 has a resist device 80 as a regulation part for regulating a behavior of the recording sheet S during conveyance so that at least a part of the surface passes in a predetermined irradiation range E including an intersection point Q to be determined by a set emission angle of an optical axis Q1 of the detection light 73 to be emitted from the light emitting element and a set reflection angle of an optical axis Q2 of the reflection light to be received by the light reception element.
