<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof apparatus that has a long lifetime by devising a gasket member shape of a cover member.SOLUTION: The waterproof apparatus includes: a recess 2a of a waterproof apparatus body 2; a cover member 3 coupled to the apparatus body by a rotary shaft 3a and rotating on the shaft to move between a recess closing position and a recess opening position to open and close the recess; and a waterproof seal member 4 surrounding a peripheral edge of the recess when the cover member is at the closing position. The waterproof seal member 4 is formed in a rectangular annular shape having four linear wall portions 4a provided to an inner side face of the cover member, protruding from the inner side face to an abutting surface of the peripheral edge of the recess, and surrounding respective sides of the peripheral edge of the recess, and four arcuate wall portions 4b connecting two mutually adjacent wall portions among the four linear wall portions, and when the cover member moves from the opening position to the closing position and abuts against the abutting surface to be compressed and deformed, a wall portion tip at a position apart from the rotary shaft is displaced to outside the peripheral edge of the recess in a section of a plane perpendicular to the inner side face of the cover member and also perpendicular to wall surfaces of the wall portions, and a radius R of arcuate portions of four corners of the rectangular annular shape of the waterproof seal member before the compressive deformation is set so that tensile stressσz of the arcuate parts is less than rubber deterioration stressσ0.</p> |
