PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital pen which can be prevented from erroneously specifying an area which is on the outside of a drawing area and has a rather high brightness value average, as a part of the drawing area even in the case where this area is present in the vicinity of the digital pen.SOLUTION: In a digital pen 1, a control unit 16 repeats first average value determination processing a prescribed number of times while changing a first reference point and a second reference point. In the first average value determination processing, a first average value in a storage unit 15 is updated with a new first average value if this first average value exceeds a second average value and exceeds the first average value stored in the storage unit 15. A drawing area specification unit 17 specifies, as a paper surface 103, a first area corresponding to the first average value stored in the storage unit 15 after the control unit 16 performs the first average value determination processing the prescribed number of times. |
