PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose an inductor and a switching circuit including the inductor.SOLUTION: An inductor of the invention includes at least one winding, and one core including at least one column, and further includes at least one yoke for forming a closed magnetic path. The winding is wound around the column, a gap is provided between at least one end part of the at least one column and at least one yoke, a flat core unit is provided for the gap, the flat core unit is formed of a material having a high magnetic permeability and a low saturation magnetic flux density, the column and the yoke are formed of a material having a high magnetic permeability and a high saturation magnetic flux density, and the saturation magnetic flux density of the material of the flat core unit is lower than the saturation magnetic flux density of the material of the column and the yoke. The inductor according to the present invention can provide a nonlinear inductance, and a nonlinear inductance curve characteristic can be improved by adjusting a thickness and a cross sectional area of the high magnetic permeability and low saturation material, and a cost is reduced at the same time and an eddy current loss in a coil is reduced. |
