<p>A reel assembly 10 comprising a spool 20 having a riser assembly 40 and rotatably mounted on a frame 180, the spool 20 comprising a gear assembly 50 housed in the spool hub 21. The 5 frame includes a level winder 181 extending between a pair of side walls 182,182'of the frame 180, to provide a guide to the payout or retraction of a hose (not shown) that is in fluid communication to the riser assembly 40 and is wrapped around, or unwound from, the spool hub 21. The spool comprises a pair of spaced side discs 22,22', one of which side discs 22' is mounted rotatably on the side wall 182' of the frame 180. A central shaft 60 comprises a pair of 10 adjustably spaced male and female sleeve butt ends 61,62 to enable the length of the spool hub 21 to be adjustably varied.
