[Also in Division A6] A chain-like toy comprises a plurality of members 1 joined by coupling-parts 17 each of which is movably connected to a pair of adjacent members, holding them in contact but permitting them to move relatively when the resistance provided by the coupling is overcome, the members being selectively disposable in one of a plurality of different positions. As shown, each member 1 is tapered towards the ends and comprises half-members 2 held together by metal plug-pins 6 inserted in sockets 7. The coupling- part holds the members resiliently and comprises a helical spring 10 held between guide strips 12 and abutting on pins 9. Each pin 9 is equidistant from the contacting surfaces 3, 4, 5 at the end of the member nearest it. Prominences 13 and depressions 14 facilitate contact of the members. The toy may be made from plastics, apart from metal pins. No claim is made to the plaything so claimed in Specification 1,142,257. |
