[Also in Division A6] A chain-like toy comprises a plurality of members 1 tapered towards their ends and joined by tensionally resilient coupling-parts each of which is pivotally connected to a pair of adjacent members holding them in areal contact but permitting them to move relatively when resistance due to resilience of the coupling- part is overcome, the members being able to contact one another areally in various positions and the coupling-part comprising at least one annular member 18 embracing a pivot of a member 1 and made of a stiff but resilient material. As shown, each member 1 comprises half-members held together by metal plug-pins inserted in sleeve 16 integral with the insides of the members. An annular member 18 surrounds and is spaced from a pair of joined sleeves but is connected to them by bar 19 and socket 20. The coupling part is formed by two such members 18, one in each of two members, connected rigidly by bar 21. Each pin 6 is equidistant from the contacting surfaces 3, 4, 5 at the end of the member nearest it. The toy may be made from plastics, apart from the pin 6. |
