A time difference measurement system includes a first face detection means for detecting a facial region from an image captured by a first camera and cutting out the facial region as a facial image, a first facial feature extraction means for extracting a first facial feature amount from the facial image, and a storage unit for associating and storing the first facial feature amount and an image capturing time. The time difference measurement system further includes, for a second camera, a similar second face detection means, a second overlap deletion means, and a second facial feature extraction means. The time difference measurement system further includes a face matching means for matching a second facial feature amount with the first facial feature amount, and a time difference calculation means for calculating a time difference between first and second image capturing times. Moreover, the time difference measurement system includes a first and/or the second overlap deletion means for comparing a plurality of facial images cut out of frames different from each other to determine whether or not the facial images are facial images of the same person, and deleting some of those determined to be facial images of the same person. Consequently, the difference between times when images of the same person were captured in different places is measured at high speed by a low-cost device. |
