<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alkylated aromatic compound which can be performed during the total production time of approximately 300 hours under catalyst recirculation conditions and does not reduce the reaction rate.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for alkylating an aromatic compound, which comprises a step of obtaining a product containing at least approximately 50 mass% of a 1,2,4-trisubstituted aromatic compound, a 1,2,3-trisubstituted aromatic compound or a mixture thereof by reacting at least one aromatic compound with an olefin mixture selected from olefins having approximately 8 to approximately 100 carbon atoms in the presence of an acidic ionic liquid catalyst. (The acidic ionic liquid catalyst is composed of a first component and a second component, the first component contains a compound selected from the group consisting of an aluminum halide, an alkylaluminum halide, a gallium halide and an alkylgallium halide and the second component contains a salt selected from an ammonium salt, a phosphonium salt or a sulfonium salt.)</p> |
