The embodiments of the present invention disclose a request response method and device based on a node controller, said method comprising: a first node controller receiving a first message; obtaining a message catalog, and querying in the message catalog whether the memory address requested by the first message is occupied by a second node controller; if the memory address requested by the first message is occupied by the second node controller, then querying the node location information and using same to determine whether the second controller is present; if it is determined that the second node controller is not present, generating an invalid response message and sending same; the destination node ID (DNID) of the invalid response message being the source node ID (SNID) of the first message; the SNID of the invalid response message being the DNID of the first message.
