<p>Provided is a system for collecting work-machine operating data, with which an increase in communication costs can be prevented while the reliability of communication is maintained. The system for collecting work-machine operating data carries out data exchange, via a fixed station, between operating-data collection devices mounted onto a plurality of self-propelled work machines and a server, wherein the operating-data collection devices each have a mobile station communication control unit for communicating with other operating-data collection devices, a fixed station communication control unit for communicating with the server via the fixed station, an operating-data storage unit for storing operating data of the work machine itself and operating data of other work machines, and a communication establishment ratio calculation unit for calculating the ratio of the duration of a communication connection with a server with respect to a given time interval. The server selects the operating-data collection device with the highest ratio of the duration of communication connection as calculated by the communication establishment ratio calculation unit, and collects the operating data of a different other work machines by relaying through the operating-data storage unit of the selected operating-data collection device.</p> |
