A four-stage multi-stage transmission in which carrier of first gear set and ring gear of fourth gear set can be coupled to housing via first brake or to drive shaft via first clutch. Sun of first gear set can be coupled to housing via second brake. Ring gear of first gear set and sun of second gear set can be coupled to drive shaft via second clutch. Drive shaft can be coupled to ring gear of second gear set via third clutch. Carrier of second gear set is permanently connected to carrier of fourth gear set, and carrier of third gear set and sun of fourth gear set are permanently connected to drive shaft. By varying further couplings within the multi-stage transmission, a set of gears having similar properties is provided. |
