Disclosed are a disaster detection system capable of grasping the generation of a disaster such as a fire or a gas leakage accurately and a providing method thereof. According to one aspect of the present invention, the disaster detection system comprises; a DB which stores 2D or 3D space area information corresponding to a predetermined space, sensing area information of a sensor which is installed in the space and senses a predetermined event generated in the space, and coverage area information of each of a plurality of image obtaining devices which are installed in the space and obtains an image corresponding to a part of the space; a sensing module which receives a sensing signal of the event from the sensor; a control module which selects a first image obtaining device capable of obtaining an image of a sensing area among the image obtaining devices based on the space information, the sensing area information, and the coverage area information if the sensing module receives the sensing signal of the event from the sensor; and a display module which displays a sensing area image obtained by the first image obtaining device selected by the control module.
