PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having both excellent input-output characteristics and high durability.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: an electrode body which is a laminate of a positive electrode, a separator, and a negative electrode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode comprises a negative electrode active material layer containing amorphous carbon-covered graphite and binder. The separator comprises: a separator base material; and a porous heat resistant layer formed on a surface of the separator base material. The amorphous carbon-covered graphite has: 10 number% or more and 40 number% or less of a cumulative frequency α of fine particles which are 3 μm or less, in number-based particle size distribution based on a flow type image analysis method; and 5 μm or more and 20 μm or less of an average particle diameter D(a median diameter), in volume-based particle size distribution based on a laser-diffraction light-scattering method. In one preferable embodiment, an average thickness Tof the porous heat resistant layer is 2 μm or more and 10 μm or less. |
