PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soundness estimation device and soundness estimation method of a battery for improving the estimating accuracy of the soundness of the battery.SOLUTION: The soundness estimation device includes: a charging/discharging current detection part 1 for detecting a charging/discharging current value; a terminal voltage detection part 2 for detecting a terminal voltage value; a first charging rate estimation part 4 for integrating charging/discharging current values to estimate a first charging rate; a second charging rate estimation part 5 for estimating a second charging rate on the basis of a relation between an open voltage value and the charging rate; a first soundness estimation part 6 for estimating first soundness on the basis of the first and second charging rates; a second soundness estimation part 7 for estimating second soundness on the basis of the internal resistance value of a battery and the soundness; and a first correction value calculation part 9 for calculating a first correction value for correcting the first charging rate on the basis of a difference between the first soundness and the second soundness. The first charging rate estimation part 4 corrects the first charging rate by using the first correction value.
