A regulating apparatus for independently and continuously variable valve timing and valve lift, comprising a cam (1), a valve (2), a hydraulic system provided between the cam (1) and the valve (2), and, parallel-connected in a hydraulic oil-way (6) between a cam cylinder (4) and a valve cylinder (5), one valve timing regulator (7) and one valve lift regulator (15). The valve timing regulator (7) comprises a valve timing regulator cylinder (8), a valve timing regulator piston (9), a valve timing regulator piston resetting apparatus (10), and a valve timing regulator limiting apparatus (11). The valve lift regulator (15) comprises a valve lift regulator cylinder (16), a valve lift regulator piston (17), a valve lift regulator resetting apparatus (18), and a valve lift regulator limiting apparatus (19). The regulating apparatus allows both valve timing and valve lift of an engine to be continuously and independently variable, thus allowing for increased fuel economy and dynamics of the engine and for improved emissions. Also disclosed is a regulating method for independently and continuously variable valve timing and valve lift. |
