(EN) A supplemental restraint system (100) that can be worn by a passenger and that can be attached to a conventional seat belt having at least a shoulder belt section and a lap belt section. The supplemental restraint system (100) primarily includes a body component (120) and a strap component (140). The body component (120) is provided with two first belt holders (126) on its front body member (122), each of which is positioned near the shoulder portion of the body component (120). Two second belt holders (128) are provided on an end portion (122a) of the front body member (122) extending to the lap area of the passenger. The first and second belt holders (126, 128) are configured to securely hold in place the shoulder and lap belt sections, respectively, of the conventional seat belt. The strap component (140) includes a first strap member (142) and a second strap member (144), the latter being configured to receive a seated passenger's hips in such a manner that the passenger's body is prevented from sliding out of the supplemental restraint system (100).
