PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce contact resistance by effectively activating a contact by ultrasonic vibration.SOLUTION: This method is to manufacture a breaker including an outer case 1, a stationary contact metal plate 4 having a stationary contact 5, a movable contact metal plate 6 having an elastic arm 6A for disposing a movable contact 7 at a position facing the stationary contact 5, and a bimetal 8 for separating the movable contact 7 from the stationary contact 5 by pushing the elastic arm 6A. An elastic metal plate having a thickness of not more than 200 μm is used for the movable contact metal plate 6, the tip part of the elastic arm 6A is pressed to provide a projection 6D and silver plating is applied to it, or after silver plating is applied to the tip part of the elastic arm 6A, it is pressed to provide the projection 6D having a silver plated layer 37, and the tip part is used as the movable contact 7. The movable contact metal plate 6 is fixed to the outer case 1, in addition, with the movable contact 7 forced into contact with the stationary contact 5 for energization, the movable contact 7 is made to collide with the stationary contact 5 each other, and whole of the outer case 1 is thereby made to ultrasonically vibrate in the approaching and parting direction of the contacts. |
