<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power system for a vehicle, which more surely enables traveling even when a high voltage battery for supplying electric power to a drive motor fails.SOLUTION: In an electric power system 1 for a vehicle, a low voltage battery 6 supplies electric power to low voltage system loads and a high voltage battery 5 supplies electric power to a drive motor M of the vehicle. A battery monitor unit 30 detects failure of the high voltage battery 5, closes main switches 11a, 11b and an auxiliary switch 12 when electric power is supplied from the high voltage battery 5 to the drive motor M, and opens the main switches 11a, 11b and the auxiliary switch 12 when failure of the high voltage battery 5 is detected. A boosting type DC/DC converter 22, after the main switches 11a, 11b and the auxiliary switch 12 are opened by the battery monitor unit 30, boosts the low voltage VL outputted from the low voltage battery 6 to the high voltage VH capable of driving the drive motor M and supplies the same to the drive motor M.</p> |
