METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING USER EQUIPMENT (UE) CONNECTIVITY

A method for establishing a bearer service between user equipment (UE) (11) and an Evolved Packed Core (EPC) (21) is disclosed. The method includes establishing one or more bearer services (32) between an eNodeB (12) and the EPC (21); receiving a connectivity request from a UE (11); comparing characteristics of the connectivity request received from the UE (11) to corresponding characteristics of the one or more bearer services (32) that have been pre-established at step between the eNodeB (12) and the EPC (21); and, if the characteristics of the connectivity request received from the UE (11) match the corresponding characteristics of a pre-established bearer service (32) between the eNodeB (12) and the EPC (21), mapping the pre-established bearer service (32) to a radio bearer service (31) connecting the UE (11) to the eNodeB (12). An eNodeB (12) and a telecommunications network (10) configured for implementing the method are also disclosed.
