PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device capable of achieving noise reduction at low cost.SOLUTION: A brake system according to the present invention includes: an upstream brake hydraulic pressure generation device that automatically generates a hydraulic pressure of a master cylinder to control a hydraulic pressure of a wheel cylinder; a downstream brake hydraulic pressure generation device that drives a pump and a control valve and absorbs a brake fluid from the master cylinder using the pump to control the hydraulic pressure of the wheel cylinder provided at a wheel to increase/decrease; a brake operation unit that is provided separately from a brake pedal and that is operated by a driver to apply a brake force to the wheel; and a wheel cylinder hydraulic pressure cooperative control unit that actuates the upstream brake hydraulic pressure generation device and/or the downstream brake hydraulic pressure generation device in response to operation of the brake operation unit to control the hydraulic pressure of the wheel cylinder.
