PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a pipeline laying method in which a protective pipe can be recovered; and the protective pipe and a closing member which are used in the pipeline laying method.SOLUTION: A pipeline laying method includes: a covering step of drilling between at least two shafts 23, 24 to form a drilled hole 25 by which the shafts 23, 24 communicate with each other and covering the inner peripheral surface of the drilled hole 25 with an integral connection protective pipe 40 in which a plurality of protective pipes 4, 4,... are detachably connected together; a laying step of laying a fluid pipe 1 inside the connection protective pipe 40; and a moving step of pulling the connection protective pipe 40 from one shaft 23 after the laying step and moving it until respective connection parts 9b, 9b of at least one protective pipe 4 and a protective pipe 4 connected with the protective pipe 4 are exposed within the shaft 23.
