PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a settlement terminal system capable of swiftly and reliably performing settlement processing and/or maintenance and improving the convenience by allowing a user to be free from anxiety about a possibility of device failure etc. and preventing abnormal termination of settlement processing due to battery exhaustion.SOLUTION: A settlement terminal system 11 includes: a settlement terminal 13 capable of being placed independently on a flat surface; and a stationary device (cradle 15) which is placed on a flat surface and has an inclined placement plane 29 formed for detachably mounting the settlement terminal 13. The cradle 15 becomes a request side or an execution side of a processing which is started after the settlement terminal 13 is mounted thereon, and the settlement terminal 13 becomes the execution side or the request side thereof. The settlement terminal 13 transmits a search signal for searching the cradle 15 and after detecting the placement state on the inclined placement plane 29 of the cradle 15 and receiving a search response signal to the search signal from the cradle 15, the settlement terminal 13 performs data transmission (transmission and reception) of processing data with the cradle 15 from the request side to the execution side.
