<p>Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for controlling a gear actuator for a vehicle. The apparatus has a gear shift gate having a selecting path and shifting paths for a control finger and including: an extended part formed to be extended from the end of the selecting path for a control finger; a blocked part formed on the extended part, and formed to be blocked in the direction of one of the shifting paths; and an expanded part formed on the extended part, and formed to be expanded from the other of the shifting paths in the direction of the other of the shifting paths. According to the present invention, the reference position of the control finger can be quickly and conveniently measured without a position sensor which measures the position of the control finger.</p> |
