摘要 <p>Vanadium and copper values are recovered from aqueous solutions containing them, especially from the acid liquors obtained from the nitric acid oxidation of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone to adipic acid, by using a cation exchange resin at a pH value of - 0.3 to 1.8; the vanadium being present as vanadyl ions and the copper as cupric ions are absorbed by the exchange resin which is subsequently eluted with a solution of a strong mineral acid. A temperature range of 33-90 DEG C. is preferably used and vanadium in solution in 0.05-1.5% by weight calculated as ammonium vanadate and copper 0.16-5.0% by weight. Nitric acid present is not more than 20%. No extraneous material is added during the recovery and this facilitates recycling of the solution. The cation exchange material is an oxidation resistant, water insoluble polymer especially a sulphonated polyvinyl aryl compound cross-linked with a divinyl aryl compound.ALSO:Catalytic vanadium and copper values are recovered from the acid liquors obtained from the nitric acid oxidation of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone to adipic acid, by using a cation exchange resin at a pH value of -0,3-1,8; the vanadium being present as vanadyl ions and the copper as cupric ions are absorbed by the exchange resin which is subsequently eluted with a solution of a strong mineral acid.
