Disclosed is a card device that, in a first direction, is inserted into and removed from a host device. The card device is characterized by being provided with: a first case that contains a tip edge that is inserted first into the aforementioned host device and a back edge that is at the reverse side from said tip edge; a first electrode row that contains a plurality of first electrodes that are aligned in a second direction along the aforementioned tip edge; and a second electrode row that contains a plurality of second electrodes that are aligned in the aforementioned second direction between the aforementioned first electrode row and the aforementioned back edge. The card device is further characterized by the aforementioned second electrodes containing electrodes disposed at positions that are offset in the aforementioned second direction from the aforementioned first electrodes. |
