CELLULAR GRADIENT POLYMER COMPOSITES

The invention relates to a polymer composite product obtained by a process comprising the following steps :
- preparation of a composite preform by precise placement of dry- or preimpregnated- fillers and/or fibres in a mould,
- incorporation of the said preform and of a polymeric material in a foaming mould,
- foaming of the prepared composite
said polymer composite showing a gradient of filler and/or fibre content and a gradient of porosity. The polymer composite according to the invention may advantageously be used in tissue engineering, bone replacement, consumer goods, transportation or in any other suitable field. The invention also includes a process for manufacturing said polymer composite.
