A frame (1, fig 1) includes frame members 2 defining an opening for receiving a closure 4. At least one of the frame members has a longitudinally extending recess (6, fig 1). A slide mechanism 7 is received in the recess, and includes a first track 12 fixed within the recess and a second track 14 moveable within and along the recess and coupled to the first track via a rotary coupling member 16. The second track is arranged to be coupled to the closure element. The frame may be a window frame and the slide mechanism may operate as a replacement for a sash counterweight. The frame and closure element may relate to a drawer. In an alternative aspect, a frame is provided with a connecting member 8 defining a pivot and a cord (50, fig 2) attached to a closure element to arrest rotation. |
