<p>A turnbutton fastener comprises a non-cylindrical shaft 5, a latch 9 rotatably mounted on an end of the shaft 5, and a helically threaded fastener 11 securing the latch 9 to the shaft 5. The threaded fastener 11 is adjustable between a loosened position and a tightened position. In the loosened position the threaded fastener 11 is in frictional engagement with the latch 9 so that the latch 9 rotates when the threaded fastener 11 is turned. In the tightened position, the latch 9 engages directly or indirectly with the shaft 5 to prevent relative rotation between the latch and the shaft.</p> |
