In the present invention, provided are a negative active material and a lithium secondary battery including the negative active material where disclosed is a negative active material, which includes a first particle having a silicon nanowire formed on a non-carbon based conductive core and accordingly improves capacity and cycle longevity property of the lithium secondary battery. In the present invention, provided is a negative active material, which includes a first particle having a non-carbon based conductive core and a silicon based nanowire installed on the non-carbon based conductive core.
