A reminder apparatus configured to alert a driver 100 of a vehicle 110, upon leaving the vehicle, to the presence of one or more items 112,113,114,116 within the vehicle. The reminder apparatus comprises a first antenna device 12 located within the vehicle, a second antenna device 15 located external to the vehicle, a radio frequency device 22 associated with each item, a keyless entry device 21, an in-vehicle processor 30 configured to control and communicate the presence of an item in the vehicle and means to output an alert. In use, a signal from the keyless entry device and each radio frequency device is picked up by each of the first and second antenna devices as the keyless entry device and each radio frequency device enters and/or leaves the vehicle respectively. There is an alert output by the processor when one or more radio frequency devices remain in the vehicle. |
