<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an index sensor having sufficient margin, for generating large variation of magnetic flux density resulting from rotation of a steering shaft. <P>SOLUTION: In the index sensor which includes a steering shaft, a magnet generating magnetic flux used for detection of a rotation reference location of the steering shaft, and a magnetic sensor detecting magnetic flux density from the magnet in order to detect the rotation reference location of the steering shaft based on the variation of magnetic flux density from the magnet, the magnet and the magnetic sensor are disposed such that a polar axis of the magnet and a detecting axis of the magnetic sensor so as to cross in xy-planar view or xz-planar view when the steering shaft is located at the rotational reference position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
