发明名称 Sheet Material Handling Apparatus
摘要
1,150,779. Delivering sheets; cutting. HARRIS-INTERTYPE CORP. 15 Nov., 1966 [26 Nov., 1965], No. 51063/66. Heading B8K. [Also in Division B4] General arrangement.-Printed sheets e.g. of cardboard are delivered in register to rotary cutting unit 11 where they are cut to form pairs of laterally spaced blanks and waste material. Conveyer 33 carries the blanks and waste to unit 12 where the blanks and waste are separated, the blanks being delivered to a "skewing" conveyer unit 13 operable to laterally separate the blanks i.e. normal to the direction of movement and deliver them to shingling and stacking unit 14. Cutters.-Rotary cutters 26 and 27 carry projecting areas to effect a simultaneous cutting and creasing of the blanks. Strippers, switches, guides.-Cylinders 35, 36 receive blanks and waste via guide plate 37. Cylinder 35 engages the blanks by means of suction members 40 projecting through holes 45 in the outer covering of the cylinder, carries them through stripping nip 37 and deposits them on either the upper or lower tier of conveyer unit 13. Suction members 40 may be connected to a source of air blast at the appropriate time to eject the blanks on to conveyer unit 13, the timing of the air blast determining whether the blanks are deposited on the upper or lower tier. Alternate rows may be deposited on different tiers. Pins 90 on cylinder 36 engage the leading edge of the sheet material in the waste area, convey the external waste cut from around the blanks downwards and release it on retraction into the cylinder. Internal waste (cut from within the blanks) is removed by suction through a plurality of openings 115 in cylinder 36, assisted by rubber projections 116a on cylinder 35, and then through conduit 118. Air blast may be used at appropriate times to guide the leading edges of the blanks from the nip 37 on to the following conveyers. Sheet carriers.-Each tier of conveyer 13 comprises an upper run 130, Fig. 17, engaging a driven lower run 131. The tapes in each run are arranged in laterally spaced pairs and each pair is laterally adjustably supported on rods extending laterally of the tapes such that the tapes are further separated laterally at their output than their input end. Belts 131 are driven by pulleys 155, in turn driven by belt 170. Upper tapes 130 are forced into engagement with lower tapes 131 by suitable pressure means (arms 196, Fig. 15, not shown) adjustable longitudinally of the tapes. Roller 203 is adjustable vertically by pivoting about axis 201. Both tiers are adjustable vertically up or down. Receivers; stacking sheets; counted batches.-In conveyer 14 each tier 210 or 211 comprises a plurality of laterally spaced endless belts 210a or 211a each being adjustable vertically on posts 221, 222. Conveyers 210, 211 move more slowly than conveyers 125, 126 and the arriving blanks are slowed by rollers 245 which engage their leading edges. The blanks are formed into stacks spaced transversely of the feed direction in trays 260. When a counted number of blanks has been delivered the speed of a conveyer 210 or 211 may be increased to separate the last members of a batch from succeeding blanks leaving unit 13.
