A pixel circuit includes a light emitting unit which emits light based on a light emission current, a light emission control unit which controls the light emission operation of the light emitting unit based on a scan signal and a data signal, a current supply unit which is connected to an external constant current source and controls the light emission current based on a current sinking operation by the constant current source, and a switch unit which controls an electrical connection operation between the light emission control unit and the current supply unit.
