<p>An apparatus (1) for filling trays (2) with rod-shaped smokers' articles (3) comprises a station (11) for filling the trays (2), a conveying apparatus (15, 16) for directing the smokers' articles (3) in bulk to the filling station (11), a first conveyor assembly (9) for directing the empty trays (2) in succession to the filling station (11), and a second conveyor assembly (10) for removing the full trays (2) in succession from the filling station (11); the conveying apparatus (15, 16) has an outlet (28) in communication with the filling station (11), and the apparatus (1) comprises a delivery device (30) for delivering the smokers' articles (3), in communication with the outlet (28) and insertable into each tray (2A) to be filled, and a movement device (26', 12) for reciprocally moving the delivery device (30) and each tray (2A) while the tray (2A) is being filled.</p> |
