Disclosed is an organic dye stabilizer, which, as a means of effectively preventing color degradation of organic dyes that is accelerated by light, heat, etc. for a long period, has an excellent stabilizing effect on organic dyes. Also disclosed are a light-absorbing member composition containing said organic dye stabilizer and an organic dye, and a light-absorbing member that is manufactured using the light-absorbing member composition. Specifically disclosed are: the organic dye stabilizer, and the light-absorbing member composition containing said organic dye stabilizer and organic dye represented by formula (1) (the symbols in the formula are as defined in the specification); and a light-absorbing member that is manufactured using the light-absorbing member composition.
